CSS Profile Instructions and Tips

The CSS PROFILE is usually due much earlier than other financial aid applications. If the student is filing for early action or early decision they must file by November 15 of the year before they wish to attend. Regular admission students must file by February 1 of the year they wish to attend. Be sure to begin the process of filling out the application at least three months before the due date to make time for any potential changes to be made or mistakes to be corrected.

Some schools actually require the student to file for early action or early decision. It is the student’s responsibility to either call the college’s financial aid office to inquire about this. They can also check the above referenced list to find out which colleges require early filing.

The CSS PROFILE is detailed in what is required. The follow are some basic items a student will need to fill out the application. However, more information may be required, which is why starting the application several months before it is due is necessary.
